Fields of Study
Fields of study are areas of specialization or concentration that are used to meet the School's depth requirement. As the basic building blocks of the Fletcher curriculum, fields enable students to develop a specific set of skills related to a functional topic or geographic area. Students in the MGA, MALD, and MIB should consult with the field of study guide in choosing their fields.

MIB Fields of Study
Students choose two specializations: one Global Affairs field and one International Business field from the following list:
Fletcher's fields of study offerings are designed to group related areas of study, to provide greater choice within each field, and to more effectively serve career paths.
Comparative Regional Studies includes Pacific Asia and Latin American studies, as well as comparative politics. International economic relations includes political economy, trade, and monetary policy. Global business and finance includes banking, business relations, marketing, and strategic management. Environment and development includes climate change and environmental policy, as well as development economics. International legal studies includes law and development, public international law, and business and economic law.
MGA students are required to take 5-6 courses in their one field of study, including a practicum in their final semester.
MALD and MIB students are required to complete two fields of study with 3-4 courses per field.
