MALD

Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD)

Program Duration:

2 academic years (19 months)

None required, 2-4 years recommended

Fletcher's flagship international affairs degree, the two-year Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD), is highly flexible and can be customized to meet specific academic, personal, and professional goals. Employers value Fletcher's unparalleled multidisciplinary approach, which produces graduates who have the practical skills and prowess necessary to navigate our increasingly complex and globally integrated planet. MALD graduates serve in public, private, and nonprofit leadership positions throughout the world.

Master of Arts (MA)

Program Duration:

1 academic year (9 months)

8 years of professional experience required

A bespoke one-year program for mid-career professionals—often on sabbatical or leave of absence from government ministries, international organizations, and other institutions—Fletcher’s MA is tailored to each student’s functional, academic, and professional goals. Students can further customize their education by cross-registering for courses at Tufts or Harvard University.

MGA

Master in Global Affairs (MGA)

Program Duration:

16 months full time (part time option available*)

2 years of professional experience required

The MGA is an accelerated 16-month residential program offers early and mid-career professionals a highly approach to career advancement. Focused on a single field of study, MGA students tackle real-world issues through coursework, internships, and a comprehensive practicum taught by Fletcher’s renowned faculty.

MIB

Master of International Business (MIB)

Program Duration:

2 academic years (19 months)

None required, 2 years recommended

Fletcher’s two-year interdisciplinary, international business degree focuses on developing broad, contextual knowledge of international affairs and mastering fundamental business skills. International students enrolled in the optional Quantitative Methods (QM) track may qualify for an additional two-year STEM extension of their Post-Completion OPT work permission.

GMAP

Global Master of Arts Program (GMAP)

Program Duration:

1 year (12 months)

8 years of professional experience required

Fletcher’s online hybrid Executive Master of Leadership in Global Affairs is engineered for mid-career professionals who wish to remain in the workforce while earning an elite global affairs degree in just one year. The GMAP combines asynchronous study with two live online leadership intensives and two in-person residencies.

LLM

Master of Laws in International Law (LLM)

Program Duration:

1 academic year (9 months)

2-4 years years professional legal experience encouraged

Fletcher's LLM in International Law is designed for lawyers interested in developing expertise in public and private international law, while deepening knowledge in complementary subjects such as political science, history, business, or economics. Our personalized approach and cohesive community make our LLM unique, preparing students for leadership positions in government, the private sector, academia, and nonprofit organizations—worldwide.

MATA

Masters of Arts in Transatlantic Affairs (MATA)

Program Duration:

2 academic years (19 months)

This two-year joint degree program, offered in conjunction with the College of Europe, provides students interested in studying on both sides of the Atlantic with an international outlook and the skills to deal with cross-border issues in a multidisciplinary and multicultural setting.

CSPP

MS in Cybersecurity and Public Policy (CSPP)

Program Duration:

16-24 months (full time) to 4 years (part time)

None required

Jointly offered by Fletcher and the Department of Computer Science in the Tufts School of Engineering, this innovative program unites students from technology and policy backgrounds and prepares them develop policies to combat the increasingly common and complex threats taking place in our global and digital world.

MAHA

Master of Arts in Humanitarian Assistance(MAHA)

Program Duration:

1 academic year

3-5 years experience in the field of humanitarian assistance required

The MAHA is a one-year joint degree program offered in partnership with the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University. The MAHA is geared toward mid-career professionals who have significant field experience working in the humanitarian assistance space.

GBA

Online Master of Global Business Administration (GBA)

Program Duration:

1.5 academic years (full time) to 24 months (part time)

At least 6 years of professional experience preferred

Similar to a global MBA, the GBA combines in-depth, graduate-level study in both business and international affairs, delivered through recorded and live online sessions in addition to two in-person immersion experiences. The GBA gives experienced professionals the flexibility to earn a degree in international business at their own pace and from anywhere in the world.

PhD

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Program Duration:

3-5 years

2 years recommended, must have completed prior qualifying master's degree

The Fletcher PhD program offers multidisciplinary advanced study in international relations for individuals who have completed a master's degree of at least one and a half years, including 12 to 16 semester-long courses in international affairs or a related field.
