Career Resources

In collaboration with other departments at Fletcher, we’ve developed a rich suite of career preparation tools, informational career trips and networking opportunities, employer showcases, and one-on-one training that you can access at any stage of your career.

Career Education and Resources

Our career education services start with the fundamentals and then build on those foundations through sector-specific programming, skill-building workshops, and a portfolio of digital resources. This individualized style of programming empowers students by providing them with the tools they need to build a meaningful career.

We provide a range of career resources to help students explore different industries and job functions, network with employers, and prepare for interviews. From individual coaching and career development workshops, to industry and sector-specific resources and events, you’ll find a number of different ways to explore all of your career options.

Washington, DC, Career Trip

Every year OCS organizes informational career trip to Washington, DC, so that students can connect with employers and alumni working in the field. Each trip includes an employer site visit, panel discussions, and student-alumni receptions. It’s a unique opportunity to interact with industry practitioners and gain valuable insight into the organizations that interest you most. The Washington DC Career Trip is a two-day event that includes representative organizations from sectors of greatest interest to the Fletcher community. Classes are canceled so all students may participate. The trip also includes a student-alumni reception typically attended by more than 500 guests, making it Fletcher's largest alumni event outside of Boston.

Information Sessions

Every year, employers from various industries and sectors visit Fletcher to meet our students and provide in-depth, on-campus information sessions. These sessions are an invaluable opportunity for you to meet with – and learn about – the organizations that best align with your career goals.

Summer Internship Assistance

Internships are a crucial part of the Fletcher experience, and an important way to continue broadening your career options. The OCS offers many different opportunities for students to connect with organizations that offer internships. We bring organizations to campus, coordinate career trips, and provide a job board that highlights different opportunities.

Visit the Summer Internships page for more statistical information.

In preparing for an important interview there's no substitute for practice. OCS offers several pathways to help you in this respect: in-person coaching tailored to your specific goals and access to online mock interview tools that help you prepare and self-evaluate remotely were both aspects that I found extremely valuable in preparing for (and succeeding in) a job interview for a competitive position that I was really hoping to land.
