Fletcher Students
Fletcher students in the following degree programs are eligible to cross-register: MGA, MALD, MIB, MA, LLM, MATA, CSPP, PhD, and EPP. Students attending Fletcher on an exchange semester are eligible for cross-registration. Credit restrictions apply by degree program and for each semester of enrollment, as outlined below. Students in online degree programs are not permitted to cross-register.
Cross-registration courses may not be taken to fulfill breadth or division requirements or to satisfy other course requirements. A maximum of 3.0 credits taken through cross-registration may apply towards a field of study with faculty field advisor endorsement for MGA, MALD, and MIB students.
Fletcher only has cross-registration agreements with graduate schools at Tufts University and Harvard University. No cross-registration will be allowed with other institutions. All cross-registered courses must be taken for credit, except for language instruction taken at Tufts School of Arts and Sciences.
MGA Students
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 6.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 6.0 credits for full-time enrolled students
Students may take no more than fifty percent of their credits through cross-registration in a part-time or reduced course load semester.
MALD Students
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 12.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 6.0 credits for full-time enrolled students
The number of cross-registration credits may be restricted for students in dual degree programs, students participating in exchange (study abroad), and students who petitioned to use transfer credit towards their degree.
Students may take no more than fifty percent of their credits through cross-registration in a part-time or reduced course load semester.
MIB Students
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 12.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 6.0 credits for full-time enrolled students
The number of cross-registration credits may be restricted for students in dual degree programs and students participating in exchange (study abroad).
Students may take no more than fifty percent of their credits through cross-registration in a part-time or reduced course load semester. MIB students may take a maximum of 6.0 credits at Harvard Business School (HBS).
MA Students
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 6.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 6.0 credits for full-time enrolled students
Students may take no more than fifty percent of their credits through cross-registration in a part-time or reduced course load semester.
LLM Students
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 6.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 6.0 credits for full-time enrolled students

MATA Students
For MATA students starting their first year at Fletcher:

- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 6.0 credits for full-time enrolled students
For MATA students starting their first year at the College of Europe:
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 3.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 3.0 credits
Students may take no more than fifty percent of their credits through cross-registration in a part-time or reduced course load semester.
CSPP Students
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 3.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 3.0 credits
Students may take no more than fifty percent of their credits through cross-registration in a part-time or reduced course load semester.
PhD in International Relations Students
For PhD students with prior Fletcher coursework:
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 6.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 6.0 credits for full-time enrolled students
For PhD students without prior Fletcher coursework:
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 9.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 6.0 credits for full-time enrolled students
- The number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree is restricted to 6.0 credits for students with approved course equivalence.
Students may take no more than fifty percent of their credits through cross-registration in a part-time or reduced course load semester.
EPP Students
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the degree: up to 6.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 6.0 credits for full-time enrolled students
Students may take no more than fifty percent of their credits through cross-registration in a part-time or reduced course load semester.
Exchange Students
- Number of cross-registration credits accepted for the exchange term: up to 3.0 credits
- Number of cross-registration credits allowed per semester: up to 3.0 credits
