On choosing Fletcher
I chose Fletcher for three reasons. First, Fletcher is known as a premier school for international relations. Fletcher's reputation among IR schools is phenomenal due to both the quality of the education and the level of services available to students once they join the Fletcher community. Second, Fletcher has a strong and dedicated alumni network who engage with current Fletcher students to provide career advice and tips, whether you’re looking for your summer internship or are about to graduate and looking for job opportunities. Last but not least, my financial aid package helped make it possible for me to study at Fletcher as an international student.
On getting out of your comfort zone
The MALD program is unique in its approach to studying international relations by combing both qualitative and quantitative subjects. One of my favorite aspects of the MALD program is that we are required to take a quantitative course, which pushed me out of my comfort zone. This is was critical to my personal growth as a student because it expanded my intellectual horizon and pushed me to develop new skills.
Diversity at Fletcher
Diversity is at the core of The Fletcher School, and community is it’s backbone. Fletcher’s commitment to community and diversity enables our graduates to be comfortable tackling world problems with diverse actors. Diversity at Fletcher is not about filling a quota but bringing people together from all backgrounds to share their experiences and help their classmates work to create a better future. Inside a classroom you’ll see students just out of their undergraduate studies sitting next to students with ten years of work experience, all learning and collaborating with each other.
