Why Fletcher?
I initially chose Fletcher because it provided the best balance between my academic pursuits and family life. Academically I knew it was a great place to study international security and had a reputation for being military friendly. Choosing to live in Massachusetts was also a great choice for my family of five. The local schools are fantastic and there is no shortage of family activities nearby.
On research
Fletcher is the perfect place for me to pursue my research interests regarding the intersection of technology and international security. The new Technology and International Affairs field of study mixes well with International Security and there are plenty of classes available in both fields that provide meaningful research opportunities.
Favorite Class
My favorite class was “National Security Decision Making” taught by Professor Abigail Linnington. The class completely changed my understanding of organizational decision making and individual thought processes. It also helped me develop my own critical thinking skills and gave me a better understanding of pitfalls to avoid while making decisions.
