Preparing for the Future
When I was considering graduate school, I knew that I wanted to attend a program that would equip me to handle the complex global issues facing our society not just today but in ten, twenty, or thirty years. After interviewing, I realized that the dual-degree program between Harvard and Fletcher offered an unparalleled opportunity to do so. Fletcher has a tradition of incorporating legal thought and the systems-design framework into international affairs. The MALD equips me with the analytical tools to grapple with where things are going through understanding where they came from. Without this perspective it is hard to be anything but reactive, and that isn't going to cut it.
On life at Fletcher
Campus life defines Fletcher. While the flexibility of the curriculum, passion of the teachers, and intellectual rigor are all outstanding, the inspiring and diverse community is what will last forever. Everyone is always around and there is no shortage of talks, clubs, and activities to keep you engaged. That being said, what I like the most is how the vibrancy of campus leads to so many chance discussions you couldn’t have anywhere else. Because people enjoy being on campus, there are always so many interesting people ready to share their knowledge and experiences.
