On the LLM

I chose to pursue an LLM after representing and doing fieldwork with stateless communities in Karachi. While I had a fair grasp of the situation in Pakistan, I wanted to step back and learn more about how this issue fits into a global context. The LLM program at Fletcher provides a more holistic understanding of international legal issues, as compared to other universities, which is exactly what I was looking for.

On the Fletcher community

I chose to study at Fletcher because it aligned with my personal goals and ethos. I am passionate about human rights protection, and I want to positively impact people's lives. This drive to tackle world problems characterizes Fletcher students. If you want to make a difference in the world, you’ll find your tribe at Fletcher.

On flexibility

The flexibility of the program has allowed me to learn about migration in-depth, from a variety of angles. I am currently taking a class on climate and migration which has allowed me to understand why people migrate and climate change's impact on migration. This is especially relevant in today's world. Also, this class has allowed me to analyze and formulate policy recommendations that can address the issue. Next semester, I will be able to learn about the intersection of international law and migration. Fletcher allows you to gain comprehensive knowledge about issues that interest you and equips you to tackle them in the real world.
