My path to Fletcher

At this stage in my career as a diplomat, applying to the Fletcher School was a natural choice. I have been working for fifteen years in the Greek Foreign Service, and I dedicated the last seven years of my career to the European Union Affairs in Athens and then in Brussels. Therefore, I believe it was the right time for me to broaden my knowledge and keep abreast of new developments in international relations. Fletcher was the best place for me to acquire a global vision on international relations shaped outside Europe and reconsider my experience so far.

On campus life

After a very Eurocentric professional life, the diversity that I encounter at Fletcher makes this academic experience unique and thrilling. Interacting with students and professionals from all around the world is enriching. Getting to know them better and understanding their aspirations for their countries and their vision of global affairs is fascinating, let alone the satisfaction you get in building long-lasting friendships with truly gifted people.

Best experience so far

Attending the Arctic Circle Assembly in Reykjavik has been one of my most memorable experiences. Being part of the team representing the school at the conference was an honor and a pleasure. It was both a unique team-building experience and an invaluable opportunity to dive deep into the largely unknown and misconceived world of the Arctic. Moreover, our professor was instrumental in helping us make the most of this conference by securing bilateral meetings with high profile officials and influential businesspeople in this region of the world.
