The sense of urgency and impending disaster in Ethiopia is escalating.
The country has been bedevilled by violence- especially in its northern region of Tigray –for four months now.
Now, on top of that, a drought is leading to mass starvation.
The UN Security Council was briefed on Thursday.
The US Secretary of State, Tony Blinken, made a couple of interventions earlier in the week, urging Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to find a way to stop the violence, so that, perhaps, the food catastrophe could be helped.
