Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Fletcher

JOIN A COMMUNITY THAT CELEBRATES DIFFERENCE
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are at the very core of the Fletcher experience. They play an essential role in equipping our students with the global perspective they need to serve as changemakers and leaders in a world that requires diversity of thought, perspective and experience to solve today's problems. Our community is built on a foundation of mutual support, respect, inclusion, and collaboration, and we believe that actively seeking out perspectives, cultures, and experiences beyond our frame of reference is critical to truly understanding the issues facing the world.
At Fletcher, we believe that we are made stronger by our differences, and that those differences can open doors to new opportunities to create lasting, meaningful change on a global scale. In 2017, the Dean of the Fletcher School was one of many Deans who signed the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA) Commitment to Diversity.
Be part of the conversation
We host a series of activities and events throughout the year to help foster diverse voices and ideas across campus. Student and faculty organizations provide an opportunity to build meaningful connections, and we have created policies to ensure that Fletcher is a safe place for every member of our community.
Office of Equal Opportunity
The Office of Equal Opportunity ensures that the University's commitment and goals toward equal opportunity are integral components of Tufts’ policies. OEO is guided by the University's commitment to and desire for a truly integrated, interactive, productive, successful, and diverse body of students, faculty, staff, and community members.
The Student Accessibility and Academic Resource (StAAR) Center
The Student Accessibility and Academic Resource (StAAR) Center coordinates reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities, whether they are taking classes online or in person. The StAAR Center also offers a variety of resource support to all Fletcher students.

Celebrating Black Legacy Month at Fletcher
Celebrated every February, Black Legacy Month is a recognition of the struggles, successes, and remarkable contributions of Black Americans throughout history.
Here at The Fletcher School, we join Tufts in celebrating Black Legacy Month—paying tribute to the legacy of Black achievement in the context of injustices past and present, and shining a light on the inspirational moments that define what it means to be Black in America.
This year, we invited members of the Fletcher community to share their Black Legacy Month reflections. Visit the link below to read their stories and learn about events taking place this month.

Celebrating Women’s History Month at Fletcher
At Fletcher, Women’s History Month is about more than honoring influential women throughout the ages. It’s about celebrating the gifts and contributions of all women – past, present, and future.
This March, you’ll have the opportunity to hear Fletcher faculty, alumnae, and students reflect on women who have changed the course of history and those who are making an impact every day, bridging the gender divide, and working to create a just and equitable society for all.
