Honor fellow community members

Every year, Fletcher recognizes the contributions distinguished alumni make to the school and to the field of global affairs.

  • Class of 1947 Memorial Award: Created by the class of 1947 on its golden anniversary, this award is bestowed upon a Fletcher graduate “honoris causa” – one who has embodied the school’s mission and its founding ideals throughout their career.
  • Dean’s Medal: Awarded at the discretion of the Dean of The Fletcher School since 1983, the Dean’s Medal is bestowed upon an individual whose life’s work coincides with the school’s greater mission: the promotion of peace, prosperity, and justice in the world.
  • Dr. Jean Mayer Global Citizenship Award: Established in 1993, the award brings to campus distinguished scholars and practitioners to deliver an address at an Institute for Global Leadership event.
  • Fletcher Women’s Leadership Award (FWLA): Administered by The Fletcher School Board of Advisors, the award is given annually to one or two mid-career alumnae who demonstrate leadership and who are making a significant impact in global affairs in the public and private sectors.
  • Tufts University Alumni Association Awards: Since 1941, the Tufts University Alumni Association (TUAA) has honored accomplished individuals for service to their profession, communities, and to Tufts.
