The program’s STEM designation also offers eligible international students the opportunity to extend optional practical training (OPT) in the U.S. by two additional years.

The Master of International Business (MIB) combines the rigors of an MBA with the breadth in global affairs, preparing leaders to address complex challenges on the world stage. It is typically a two-year, full-time residential program. 

Students seeking additional rigorous STEM training should explore the Quantitative Methods (MIB: QM) track. 

The Master of Global Business Administration (GBA) degree is an online master’s program designed for mid-career working professionals who want to advance their careers while continuing to work.

The degree builds on Fletcher’s rigorous, global Master of International Business (MIB) curriculum with a focus on STEM competency. As a QM student, you’ll complete similar core requirements as other business students, while tailoring your degree by pairing one global affairs field of study and one international business track. 

In addition to the core business courses, QM students take courses in Sustainable Business or Corporate Social Responsibility; Marketing Management or Supply Chain Management; International Law and Organizations; Data Science for Global Applications; and additional QM-designated courses that further strengthen your analytical and quantitative skills.

Yes, it is a STEM-designated program. For students coming from outside the United States, this designation may extend the duration of optional practical training (OPT) in the U.S. by two years, providing additional time to gain professional expertise, grow your network and build expertise.  Throughout the process, you’ll also benefit from the targeted support of Fletcher’s Office of Professional Development, which works closely with students to help them achieve their career goals.

From becoming a research assistant at one of our research centers like the Institute for Business in the Global Context, to joining the editorial board of one of our esteemed student-run journals (Fletcher Forum, Praxis, and the Fletcher Security Forum), to the work you’ll do on a capstone project.
