Why Fletcher?
Fletcher is the perfect mix of academic rigor and supportive community. The faculty and staff have encouraged my niche passions with genuine curiosity, challenging me to think differently about my areas of research in gender and human security. Working with Professors Dyan Mazurana and Kimberly Theidon, I hope to interrogate normative beliefs on how gender influences international affairs and social movements, continuously checking my own assumptions along the way.
Favorite Class
My favorite class at Fletcher (thus far) has been Environmental Humanities with Professor Kimberly Theidon. This course strongly influenced my decision to apply for the PhD program as it sparked my interest in gender and environmental justice, about which I hope to write my dissertation.
