Fletcher updates several degree names
As a steadfast leader in international affairs graduate education, The Fletcher School has a progressive history of innovating to stay at the forefront of our rapidly changing and dynamic world. Recently, the school updated several of its degree names.
While the curriculum of the degrees did not change, the new degree names better reflect the programs’ courses of study, ensure the degree names are easily understood by employers for improved career outcomes (and not filtered out by AI screening tools), and showcase the family of degree offerings and their modality available for students at all stages of their career.
New students beginning in fall 2026 now have the benefit of the most recognizable degree names, while also continuing to have unique flexibility with fields of study, electives, and experiential learning to pursue their career interests and differentiate their expertise.
The degree names that changed are as follows.

The names of Fletcher’s other degrees have not changed, including the Master of International Business, Master of International Business: Quantitative Methods, Master of Laws in International Law, Master of Arts in Transatlantic Affairs, and Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Public Policy.
