Biography

Daniel W. Drezner is academic dean and distinguished professor of international politics at The Fletcher School at Tufts University. His research focuses on economic statecraft, United States foreign policy, global political economy, and power in world politics.

Drezner is a nonresident senior fellow at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, an academic partner at State Street, and the co-director of Fletcher's Russia and Eurasia Program. Drezner frequently speaks on matters related to foreign policy and the global economy in the media, and he regularly contributes to esteemed academic journals.

Drezner has worked astride academia and public policy throughout his career. He has testified before the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, the World Bank, the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, and the National Intelligence Council on foreign policy and global economic governance. A member of the Council of Foreign Relations, Drezner has previously held positions with the Civic Education Project and the RAND Corporation. As an international economist in the U.S. Department of the Treasury, he worked on anti money laundering policy and combatted financial abuse. Additionally, he has received fellowships from the German Marshall Fund of the U.S., Council on Foreign Relations, and Harvard University.

He is the author of seven books, including "Theories of International Politics and Zombies" (Princeton UP, 2022) and "All Politics is Global" (Princeton UP).
