Keiko Shimizu Broomhead
Biography
As Associate Dean of Enrollment Management and Student Experience, Dr. Keiko Shimizu Broomhead provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the full student lifecycle at The Fletcher School, including admissions, enrollment strategy, registration, student experience, and career and professional development. She works closely with faculty and colleagues across the school and university to advance enrollment goals, support student success, and strengthen Fletcher’s global engagement.
Prior to joining Fletcher, Dr. Broomhead served as Vice President for Enrollment Management at Berklee College of Music, where she led enrollment strategy across the institution’s campuses in Boston, New York, and Valencia, Spain. She has also held senior leadership roles at Wentworth Institute of Technology, Urban College of Boston, and Bristol Community College, where she oversaw integrated Enrollment Management and Student Affairs operations and led initiatives spanning admissions, financial aid, registrar functions, and student services.
In addition to her institutional leadership, Dr. Broomhead has worked as a consultant and strategic advisor to colleges and universities, supporting efforts in strategic enrollment management, technology implementation, and organizational effectiveness. Her work has focused on aligning enrollment strategy with institutional mission, financial sustainability, and student success.
Dr. Broomhead began her career in higher education in 1995 and has extensive experience working with diverse student populations and advancing access, equity, and global engagement initiatives.
She holds an Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University, an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and earned her B.A. in East Asian Studies and Spanish Studies at Oberlin College.
