On the diversity of the community
I've worked in many international environments, and the diversity at Fletcher is beyond anything I've experienced before. Not only are there students of many different nationalities, but everyone also has numerous international experiences. As someone who has studied abroad in Italy, China, Singapore, Thailand, and Egypt, it's refreshing to meet others with similar experiences and curiosity. It makes for excellent classroom discussions and side conversations on current events.
On the Fletcher alumni network
When deciding where to attend graduate school, I wanted to gain as much insight as I could on the schools and potential job opportunities after graduation. I contacted multiple alumni from each school and I received the most responses by far from Fletcher alumni. I was very impressed by the generosity of their time and willingness to connect me to additional alumni in my field of interest, even before I became a student. Since being on campus, I have only witnessed stronger involvement by alumni through speaker series, networking events, and career trips.
Learning at the intersection
Before attending Fletcher, I knew that the school focused across disciplines, but I did not realize how interconnected my courses and extracurricular activities would be. For instance, the same topic came up in a different context in my Supply Chain Management, International Law, and Accounting classes, each offering a different perspective. It is an incredible opportunity to be able to analyze issues through diverse lenses and see how they all come together in a real world context.
