The path to Fletcher
After graduating with a master’s from Fletcher in 2010, I landed my dream job leading research initiatives for a consulting firm focused on financial inclusion. I was able to study a wide range of topics and translated research into practical advice for banks, mobile money operators, governments, and NGOs. Eventually, that work took me to Kenya, where over the course of about five years I got to work with dozens of amazing young people. One of the best parts of my job was coaching them. I found it very rewarding to watch them grow. I decided to come back for a Ph.D. both to take my research to the next level and also to open up more formal teaching opportunities. Fletcher was an obvious choice for me, because of the interdisciplinary nature of the program and because I was 100% sure faculty would be open and supportive.
