On mixing academics with impact

To me, Fletcher provides the best opportunity to pursue my passion of serving the world’s marginalized populations. From my first moments here I could sense that this was a program structured around a supportive community focused on solving the world's most pressing problems. The diversity of perspectives challenges you to think critically about the consequences of the decisions we are being taught to make. Such academic rigor, coupled with Fletcher's impact-driven mission, has inspired me to pursue my personal goals of addressing human security issues in Sierra Leone, the country where I was born.

On campus life

Campus life at Fletcher is quite busy and just plain fun; if you blink, you might miss all the amazing events happening here. Through access to the broader Tufts community, being on campus it is easy to supplement your academic experience with extracurricular activities. Whether it's attending a panel with a US Supreme Court justice, hanging out with Fletcher's military fellows, or being captivated by the experiences of a Hiroshima survivor, there is never a boring day on campus. Not only does Fletcher offer access to experiences such as these, but there are also endless academic resources. Writing instruction classes, data analysis tutorials, and note-taking tips are the norm, equipping students with everything they need to feel confident and able to achieve their goals.
