On the MA experience
The Fletcher curriculum is exactly what someone at the middle career stage needs. It provides enough flexibility so you can adjust your study program to fit with your professional needs. At the same time, it encourages you to diversify the academic breadth which brings new intellectual impulses. It's not unlikely that you start your day with a lecture on the role of force in international relations, trying to understand security dilemma just to move to the contemporary challenges in the economics of the European Union later on. The next day you analyze the causes and triggers of civil wars and end up your week with identifying the parties to the conflict, analyzing their positions and interests with the aim to design a workable negotiation strategy.
On life outside the classroom
The number of Fletcher extracurricular activities is just impressive. All the interest groups, clubs, societies and volunteers -- I can't stop admiring the level of dedication and enthusiasm among the students. I only wish I had more time to attend all those conferences, symposia, seminars, talks or movie screenings. I also very much enjoy the discussions not just with the faculty members but with my fellow students from whom I've already learnt a lot. The spirit of community is something that makes your Fletcher experience so unique.
