On multifaceted learning
I was looking for a new approach to studying which would expose me to subjects and experiences outside my comfort zone. Beyond obtaining a foreign degree, I was searching for an experience where I could learn through interacting with both professors and colleagues who are diverse in terms of educational background, professional experiences, and culture. I wanted to be a part of this journey, where I learn through listening, observing, analyzing, and getting involved. And Fletcher certainly hasn’t disappointed.
On the LLM program
I chose the LLM for its interdisciplinary nature and small size. The broad course offerings would help me understand international law in a social, economic, and political context. I have the opportunity to shape my own curriculum, and have chosen to complement my international law coursework with political science, history, business, and economics courses. This flexibility allows me to maximize the experience my one-year LL.M. program.
On the Fletcher faculty
My favorite class so far class has been International Investment Law, taught by Professor Jeswald Salacuse. The class emphasizes student participation, discussing the various aspects of investment law. Professor Salacuse has so much professional experience in this area, which enriches his teaching style. The group assignments and study groups are something that I really enjoy. They have helped me develop better learning habits.
