On selecting the MIB program
I was originally looking at traditional MBA programs, but the thought of doing a program with its roots in accounting and finance just didn't excite me. When I found the MIB program at Fletcher it provided exactly the right balance between the core business skills that I knew I would need for my career, and the development topics that really interested me. Fletcher was the only school that offered this balance in a two year program. The fact that Fletcher was in Boston also helped!
On collaboration and teamwork at Fletcher
The diversity of experiences my classmates have is one of Fletcher's greatest assets and is particularly helpful when working in our group projects. Everyone has different professional, academic, and international experiences, and bringing them together in class projects or club programming is both challenging and rewarding. In my first group project, we had someone with an NGO background, two people with military backgrounds, someone else with government experience, and me with my private sector background. It made for some interesting discussions and approaches that I never would have considered before.
