On collaboration and teamwork at Fletcher

Many Fletcher classes encourage or mandate group work in class. This forces us to not only practice working with others who have different backgrounds and personalities, but also to learn from each other. I found that my peers (including diplomats, human rights activists, and military experts) are my greatest resource at Fletcher; I learn something new from my classmates every day. The community at Fletcher extends beyond the school setting as well. The alumni and student network serve as a vital resource for future professional outreach and collaboration.

On campus life

You never run out of things to do at Fletcher as there is a very vibrant campus life. This is perhaps due to the fact that the university is not located in DC but rather Boston, an academic hub where people are dedicated to both their academic and social experiences. There is always something interesting going on at campus whether it be a talk by Michael Dobbs, noted politician and author of House of Cards, or SIMULEX, a large-scale crisis management exercise. With a plethora of activities on campus and at partner universities like Harvard, you can fully immerse in the unique intellectual community of Fletcher and beyond.

On using your Fletcher degree to make a difference in the world

The Fletcher School is made up of highly ambitious and intellectually inquisitive people from around the world. By studying with them, I hope to build the necessary connections and bridges in my professional world. Furthermore, I plan to delve further into my academic and professional interests, studying the relationship between governance, corruption, and development. With the technical skills, academic expertise, and networks gained at Fletcher, I plan to work on integrating good governance and anti-corruption efforts in development aid practices in order to create more inclusive, equitable, and just societies for marginalized communities in developing countries.
