On marrying experience and goals
Fletcher was a no-brainer for me. I originally went to graduate school to pivot my career and pursue my passion for food and agriculture. It became evident as my studies progressed that I needed a way to marry my prior experience with my goal to have a broaderĀ social impact. Fletcher was the answer to that. It combines a vibrant, multi-cultural community with a rigorous curriculum in International Affairs, Finance, and Economic Development. I knew I would get as much, if not more, from my colleagues as I do from the classroom.
On choosing a program for the real world
I didn't consider traditional MBA programs, so my evaluation of the MIB was a little different than that of my peers. At one point, I was considering law school, and after realizing that wasn't for me I took a closer look at the MIB, and it was evident that it was the right fit. The program combines fundamentals of business strategy, law, and Fletcher's deep roots in Diplomacy. We don't live in a two-dimensional world, so it made sense that to me that my studies would be as dynamic as the world we live in.
On team work at Fletcher
Teamwork is the cornerstone of the MIB and the overall Fletcher experience. I haven't encountered a course where there isn't a group project and presentation. This gives you the skills to find your voice and working style in any setting, and Fletcher gives you ample opportunity to do.
