Why Fletcher?

It all started in the summer of 2016 when I was in The Hague for summer school, studying human rights and human security. During that time, I discovered that I needed to pursue a higher education level so that I could make a bigger impact in my career working on human rights advocacy and humanitarian response in Iraq. As an undergrad, I focused on law and pursued my passion for international diplomacy, negotiations, and conflict resolution. I asked my professor in The Hague where he thought I should study given my legal background. He instantly replied with ‘Fletcher.' I submitted my application and a year later, here I am! The reputation of The Fletcher School as one of the most renowned international affairs school in the world is what really attracted me to enroll here. Fletcher's curriculum has given me the opportunity to study both international human rights law and international humanitarian law while also taking coursework on negotiation, conflict resolution, peace building and more. The unique curriculum of the MALD program and the academic and professional knowledge that it provides are remarkable. As I work towards a career in international negotiations, I also want to build on my international law and international human rights law experience. The MALD program represents a great opportunity to satisfy all of my academic aspirations.

On Fletcher's global perspective

At Fletcher, I've had the chance to meet many American and international students. Each person brings with them different perspectives, stories, and experiences to learn from. I've worked on keeping an open mind so that I can learn and absorb all I can from this experience. Each one of my colleagues has contributed to my learning and education. I'm sure that my views on the world we're living in have already changed drastically and I'm enjoying learning something new each day.
