Biography

Why Fletcher

I chose Fletcher because of how effectively the institution straddles the worlds of academia and policy; a nexus in which I hope to live. Inspired by the achievements of Fletcher's global alumni and motivated by the flexibility that our School offers to students, I wanted to take full advantage of the trampoline that Fletcher can be – academically and beyond!

On the MYF pathway

I chose the Map your Future program because it gave me the opportunity to gain global professional experience before beginning my MALD. This allowed me to place my studies in context and incorporate fields from international law to quantitative skills into my coursework. The MALD provided the exact mix of courses with which to maximize my time at Fletcher.

A culture of learning

Fletcher is an extremely collaborative environment, both inside and outside of the classroom. Due to the diverse backgrounds and experiences of the student body, it is easy to find the support needed to achieve your goals. I have found students to be constructively competitive, inspired by the successes of others, and simultaneously idealistic and pragmatic. The culture at the Fletcher School makes it a fantastic place to study.

On finding Fletcher everywhere

I have found the availability of Fletcher alumni to be an incredible aspect of the institution. My experiences reaching out to Fletcher alums on LinkedIn, email, or on the street (upon noticing a Fletcher sweatshirt) have always been positive. Whether I am reaching out for a tip, professional query, or informational interview, I have found Fletcher alums to be eager to give back and help.
