Zombies and Politics: Horror Genre Comparisons With the Coronavirus Pandemic
Ten years ago, Professor Daniel Drezner was writing a text book about international relations when he decided to use a fictional construct to communicate his message: zombies.
Since then, he's drawn creepy comparisons between how the genre perceives politics and society and real life. For starters, there's the plummeting trust in institutions, failures of international cooperation and not to mention a pathogen with deadly consequences.
Prof. Drezner joins Patricia Karvelas in The Drawing Room to compare the similarities with the horror genre and the politics of today's coronavirus pandemic.
