Ralph Bunche Society Speaker Series on Diversity: Alexia Latortue

Alexia Latortue became Managing Director for Corporate Strategy at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in 2017. As a member of the executive committee, she manages relationships with other international financial institutions and the G7 and G20.

Prior to joining the EBRD, Alexia Latortue was the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Development Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Before Treasury, Ms Latortue spent 10 years with the World Bank where her last assignment was Deputy CEO of the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), a unit dedicated to advancing financial inclusion.

In her early career, Ms Latortue served in several development-related positions focused on financial inclusion, economic policy reform, and private sector development.

An American national, Ms Latortue grew up in Puerto Rico, West Africa and Austria. She has lived and worked in France, Haiti, and the United States. She received her M.A. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and her B.S. from Georgetown University.
