Fall 2021 Semester
Dear Fletcher Students,
We look forward to returning to the Fletcher campus for the Fall 2021 term!
Our plan is to return to an in-person academic experience. We cannot wait to see all of our current students, faculty, and staff, and together with them, welcome our new students to Fletcher in September.
While the vast majority of our classes will be delivered in person, we will be maintaining flexibility and offering some classes in a hybrid or remote mode. A preliminary course schedule will be posted no later than June 15, 2021, and it will continue to be updated over the summer. SIS will list courses by type.
In addition, in accordance with health and safety guidelines, we plan to resume in-person co-curricular activities, including club activities, events and conferences, and of course, some of our favorite rituals to kick off the academic year.
Having learned how to operate remotely we can continue to exploit the benefits of bringing the world into the classroom, and we expect to have speakers and practitioners join us in person and by remote.
The Academic Calendar for 2021-22 is available on the website here. Orientation will begin on Monday, August 30, 2021, Shopping Day will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, and classes will begin on Tuesday September 7, 2021. Convocation will be on September 10, 2021.
Of course, our commitment to the health and safety of the Fletcher community remains paramount, and we will continue to follow official public health guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, our host communities, and Tufts University. This may mean making changes in real time through the academic year, and we know that Fletcher students will continue to protect each other and themselves by adjusting if necessary.
We will regularly update FAQs (below) as pandemic-related policies develop, including additional information on vaccinations as it becomes available.
We anticipate that even with a return to a largely in-person environment, there still will be some level of surveillance testing and mask wearing necessary.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
