Enrich your skills, enhance your career

Fletcher's Master of Arts (MA) degree is a one-year program for mid-career professionals on sabbatical or leave of absence from government ministries, international organizations, and other institutions. This program is also open to candidates pursuing a joint- MD/MA or MA/DVM degree. Through a highly customizable curriculum that blends fundamental knowledge and practical skills, students immerse themselves in a diverse learning environment where they explore the latest political, business, and legal thinking – allowing them to gain new skills and knowledge that will enhance their careers.

A degree tailored to you

The flexibility of Fletcher’s MA allows you to select courses that match your own functional and/or regional interests, which means a program tailored to your specific academic and professional goals. Fletcher students can also cross-register for courses at Tufts University and Harvard University, providing you with the opportunity to further customize your education.

Become a member of our community

The Fletcher student experience is a critical component of the intellectual exploration and policy discourse that defines the MA program. Students become fully integrated into our diverse, vibrant campus. They attend classes with students across other programs, and participate in our wide range of student organizations and clubs. Many MA students come to Fletcher with their families, and our MA Student Group is committed to making them feel like part of our community. From welcome and farewell dinners, guided walks on Boston's Freedom Trail, and apple-picking excursions in the countryside, there is a world of ways to engage with fellow students.
