EIB B237: Field Studies in Global Consulting

Course Description

The goal of this course is to provide an introduction to consulting as it is practiced worldwide and across sectors. Students will achieve this goal by undertaking a consulting engagement for a real-world client. The first part of the course will include an introduction to and practice in the essential skills that form the core of professional development for consultants at top-level firms. Students will then put these skills to the test by completing a team consulting project for a sponsoring organization. Open to students who have completed B225 or B230 and/or B200 or with permission of the instructor. Class size will be limited by the number of projects confirmed by external sponsors with a maximum of five projects, or twenty five students, being accepted. Input for the project grade will come primarily from the client; team self- evaluations will be reflected in individual final grades.
