International Business

The International Business field is concerned broadly with the management of the business enterprise in a global context. As such it provides a foundational platform for a business curriculum in leadership, finance, strategy, marketing, corporate social responsibility while nurturing a nuanced understanding of the global socio-political, socio-economic, and industry contexts. Towards that end it develops theoretical and applied/managerial analytical frameworks applicable to decision-making in firms in a wide range of industries -- manufacturing, trading, technology, service and financial firms --operating at different stages of their internationalization process. The field also prepares students with an understanding of how business decisions have an impact beyond the firm; this may include the communities and the environment in which the firm operates, the extended chain of business, social and public sector players affected by the firm, and the world at large. The field prepares graduates for careers in the private sector or in other sectors that apply private sector principles for decision making, resource allocation and broad impact.

MIB students are not permitted to use the International Business field of study.
