Photographer Bio I was born in Cleveland, Ohio to parents of Indian decent. I spent most of my childhood and formative years in Chicago, IL although I spent extensive amounts of time with family (especially my grandfather) in India. While I am pleased to be an American citizen, I always sought a deeper identity and have found this identity in India. Over the years, my love for India gradually extended into a desire to learn more about surrounding regions and resulted in travel, study, or work in Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Pakistan, Maldives, China and Hong Kong as well as Australia and New Zealand. The images represented here are just a small sampling of the photos I have taken in India and other parts of Asia. In addition to documenting my own steps, my goal in taking photos is to impact people's minds and spirits and to capture mini-moments in time - time that stops for no one! ...I feel the same about writing. If a photo, a poem, or even a mere word can capture the mind, transport the imagination, or move the heart (of even one person!), then I feel I have accomplished something. As I enjoy my last semester of my studies in International Environment and Resource Policy at Fletcher, I sincerely hope that I can put the education I have received to good use for global environmental good. While working towards this end, I also hope to continue to write and take photographs to be shared with those who wish to look and listen. Thank you for your time. Malini Goel
