Martin Masumbuko Muhindi

I was born in a Luhya-Bukusu village in the great Rift Valley in Western Kenya. I went to Moi University for undergraduate studies in Political Science. In 1993, I was appointed as a UNHCR Protection Officer at the Kakuma refugee camp. I left in 1994 and worked for UNDP in Kenya for a year before proceeding to Oxford University as a fellow in the U.K. in 1995. On return in 1996, I rejoined UNHCR as a Protection/Field Officer until August 2001 when I came to Tufts University for a Master of Arts Degree in Humanitarian Aid, a joint program with The Fletcher School.
