Dario - Staying Cool in the Shower Stall
Call San Jose, Paraguay 1996
James Patton
Dario suffered from a severe case of cerebral palsy, compounded by a high childhood fever, and was unable to walk or talk. On the hottest days his mother would fill a washtub with cool water and set him in the shade of the outdoor shower stall. Upon returning from a sweaty beekeeping session I encountered him lounging and took his picture. His mother has taken his photograph to numerous local healers in an attempt to cure him, since the various medicines that the local Western doctors sell her have had no effect.
