Hélène Lawler

Photography for me is more than just a hobby. It is the tool I use to share with others my experiences, my emotions, life as seen through my eyes. For nearly two decades, I have been attempting to create images, striving to produce on film what appears in my head as I explore the world around me. My inspirations come through travel, new cultures and people, all of whom have taught me to appreciate the beauty and tragedy of life, where ever I happen to find myself. Born and predominantly raised in Canada, landscapes have profound meaning for me and are a common feature in my work. People are another major theme, each individual being a landscape unto themselves, a world, a universe of which I attempt to capture a fleeting moment.
