Henrikson and Pfaltzgraff were each interviewed about what it was
like to have Mr. Karamanlis as their student. The program is

January 13, 2004 - On Monday, Jan. 13,
the first in a series of news briefings, called "Tufts on Tuesdays,"
was arranged for professors from across the university to brief
reporters on Iraq. It is part of a university-wide outreach effort
to the media.
The professors who participated gathered at the
Tufts' New England medical Center. They consisted of Antonia Chayes,
Hurst Hannum, Leila Fawaz, Andrew Hess, Malik Mufti [poli. sci.
dept.], Bill Moomaw, George Saperstein [Vet School] and Jeff
Taliaferro [poli. sci. ]. The large panel was moderated by Steve
Bosworth.
As part of this ambitious effort, there was a
national telephone hookup allowing reporters from all over the
country to call in and participate. Reporters from The Boston Globe,

& Gazette and Arlington Access Cable showed. up.

way to an agreement on nuclear weapons, the other news [admittedly
not quite as big] is that Libya's prime minister Shukri Ghanim was
interviewed by the NY Times last Friday which mentioned he received
his PhD from Fletcher. According to The Times: "The prime minister,
a leading reformer among Colonel Qaddafi's advisers, spoke in his
large new office near the palm-studded waterfront of Tripoli's
ancient harbor. A large portrait of Colonel Qaddafi looks out over
the carpeted expanse of his work area. Mr. Ghanim, 61, spoke in the
English that he perfected in the Boston area while he completed
doctoral studies at The Fletcher School at Tufts University."
