turned for this week's homeland security conference organized by the
Institute of Foreign Policy Analysis and The Fletcher School. ABC's
"Good Morning America" and NBC's Today Show yesterday did satellite
interviews from Cambridge with Rear Adm. Richard Bennis, the
Undersecretary for Maritime and Land Security from the newly-created
Transportation Security Administration. Reporters from
Knight-Ridder, Gannett-News [which owns USA Today] as well as a DC
editorial writer for The Christian Science Monitor all flew up, as
well as reporters from defense publications. The Boston Globe sent
two reporters [see maritime security story in City & Region Front in
today's Boston Globe] while the Boston Herald sent a photographer.
The Hartford Courant dispatched a reporter. The Associated Press
reporter stayed for two days.
