Joint Chief Chair Richard Myers; Heads of Army, Navy and Airforce to
Speak at Conf. on National Security and Iraq Dec. 2-3
Cambridge, MA. -- Against the backdrop of the
increasingly dangerous situation in Iraq, Gen. Richard Myers, Chairman of
the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will deliver an address on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at a
timely conference on national security and Iraq to be held in Washington,
D.C.
The two-day conference, "Security Planning and Military
Transformation After Iraqi Freedom," will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 2 and
Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003. Three of the five heads of the military services
will also speak: Gen. Peter Schoomaker, Army Chief of Staff; Adm. Vernon
Clark, Chief of Naval Operations; and, Gen. Michael Hagee, Commandant, U.S.
Marine Corps.
Other participants include Vice Adm. Thomas Barrett,
Vice Commandant, U.S. Coast Guard; John Bolton, Under Secretary of States
for Arms Control and International Security; and, Rep. Curt Weldon, Vice
Chairman, House Armed Services Committee.
