Michael J. Glennon On Thursday, Sept. 12, the class of 2004 listened intently to the Convocation speakers, beginning with Dean Bosworth, who kicked off Fletcher's 70th academic year with praise for the accomplished entering class - "the best class ever" - winnowed from a record high number of 1800 applications. Dean Bosworth was followed by the President of the Class of 1947, Hayden Williams, who along with 8 of his fellow classmates was enjoying his 55th reunion weekend. Student representative, Itamara Lochard charmed the audience with her reflections on her life at Fletcher. "This community provides a tremendous opportunity to learn to be empathetic, kind, open and tolerant through learning about other people and most importantly about yourself.", stated Ms. Lochard. Lastly, Professor Michael J. Glennon, Fletcher's new Professor of International Law introduced himself and sketched out the path of his career that led him to The Fletcher School. Prof. Glennon praised the Fletcher student body and complimented their intellectual curiosity and praised "the (students) ability to be equally at home in the world of thought and the world of action."
