Fletcher Multilaterals Project Cited by Internet Scout Report

By Jeff Gardner

The Internet Scout Project has selected the Fletcher Multilaterals Project for inclusion in the Scout Report (August 3, 2001 ). The Multilaterals Project, begun in 1992, is an ongoing project at the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy to make available the texts of multilateral conventions and other international instruments. The project was initiated by Peter Stott, a Fletcher student, to improve public access to environmental agreements, but today the collection includes treaties in the fields of human rights, commerce and trade, laws of war and arms control, and other areas. The vast majority of texts date from the second half of this century, but the collection also includes historical texts, from the 1648 Treaty of Westphalia to the Covenant of the League of Nations. The Project is maintained by staff of Fletcher’s Edwin Ginn Library. It can be viewed at:

The Internet Scout Project is funded by the National Science Foundation and the Andrew Mellon Foundation and located at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. It is one of the most respected Website evaluators - especially in terms of content. Project staff take care to cover only the most useful resources, considering the depth of content, the authority of the source, and how well the information is maintained and presented.
