
The Bodossaki Foundation invites applications for a fellowship, at the pre-doctoral or postdoctoral level, of $35,000 with the Constantine Karamanlis Chair at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy for the year 2009-2010, starting on September 1, 2009.
The fellowship is intended to support one year of research and writing towards the completion of a dissertation by an advanced graduate student or a monograph by a juniormid level scholar. The ideal applicant will be a social scientist with a demonstrated potential of both scholarly achievement and policy expertise, situating Greece within broader European and international debates in international relations theory and practice.
The Fellowship recipient will be expected to cooperate with the Karamanlis Professor in the research and outreach activities of the Chair, and will be required to offer one guest lecture under the auspices of the Chair.
Applicants should be Greek citizens under the age of 30. Financial need is also a very important factor of consideration for the award.

The Recipient for 2007-2008 is Dr. Elizabeth H. Prodromou. Dr. Prodromou is Asst. Professor in the Department of International Relations at Boston University, where she is also the Coordinator of the M.A. Program in International Relations and Religion and a Research Associate at the Institute on Culture, Religion and World Affairs. Prodromou holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; she completed her M.A.L.D. from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, as well as a B.A. in International Relations and History from Tufts University.
She has published widely on issues of religion and human rights, democracy, and security in Europe and the United States. Her publications have appeared in scholarly and policy journals, such as European Journal of Political Research, Social Compass, Journal of the American Academy of Religion, Journal of Democracy, Orbis, Survival, and Journal of Faith & International Affairs as well as in numerous edited volumes on human rights and religious freedom, as well as on politics and culture in Southeastern Europe.
With the goal of upgrading the human capital of the Greek foreign service so that it better meets the challenges of the 21st century, Mrs. David has generously sponsored a 1-year fellowship at the Fletcher School for a promising Greek diplomat.
