The Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (IDSS) The Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (IDSS) was established in July 1996 as an autonomous research institute within the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. IDSS was inaugurated by Dr. Tony Tan Keng Yam, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence and hosts Dr. Rohan Gunaratna, one of the world’s foremost experts on Islamic terrorism.
Combating Terrorism Center at West Point
