The Jebsen Center for Counter Terrorism Studies

Message From The Director, BG (Ret.) Russell D. Howard

The Jebsen Center for Counter-Terrorism Studies opened in September of 2005 at The Fletcher School at Tufts University through a generous gift by Mr. Jan Henrik Jebsen.

The Center’s mission is to increase the understanding and competency of counter-terrorism professionals around the world. To achieve its mission the Jebsen Center funds a strong research and analysis program, hosts conferences, and underwrites a visiting fellows program. The Jebsen Center also conducts outreach activities to help a broader audience understand the value of the Center’s research initiatives. Core research topics at the Center will focus on predicting, preventing, and preempting terrorist activity. The role of women and business in the campaign against terrorism are two of several near-term research projects.

The Center is proud to be a part of The Fletcher School and to work in partnership with its world class faculty and globally experienced, graduate student body. Please leverage the resources available on our website and feel free to contact us should you need additional information regarding the Center’s research initiatives, conference schedules, and outreach programs.
