Read the article. The Center for Conflict and Peace Studies is located in Kabul Afghanistan and graciously supported by the Jebsen Center. CAPS is an independent, research centre that strives to conduct action-oriented research which will influence policy-makers. It works diligently towards building local capacity to produce conflict and threat assessments that will influence the safety and security of the people serving the governments, international businesses, and international aid organizations. CAPS aims to be the focal point of information on Afghanistan and the region. It undertakes research, training and knowledge exchanges on conflict; the people and cultures of the region; violent groups in the region. Jebsen Center Researcher Lorenzo Vidino testifies as an an expert witness in terrorism case. On Tuesday, March 13, 2007 Jebsen Center Researcher Lorenzo Vidino testified as an expert witness in the US District Court of Eastern Virginia in the case filed by the families of the victims of the USS Cole against Sudan in Rus et al. vs Sudan. Josh is described as a graduate student from Tufts University who started a “pen campaign” by sending letters to policy makers urging them to sign strong legislation to end genocide in Darfur. The authors stated that the “pen” avoided any excuses not to vote or sign a bill into law. Author John Prendergast is of the International Rescue Committee and Don Cheadle is an Oscar Nominee from the movie
Hotel Rwanda.
