Crisis Simulation Exercise (SIMULEX):
Each year, as part of the Seminar on Crisis Management, ISSP sponsors a weekend crisis simulation exercise. Simulex 2006 was held on October 27-28, 2006. This year's Iranian centric scenario focused on Southwest Asia. The following countries and groups were represented: United States, European Union, Iran, Iraq, Israel, and Hezbollah.
The Simulex 2006 exercise had more than 100 participants from The Fletcher School and from the outside community. Among those taking part were representatives from the following U.S. government offices and agencies as well as other organizations:

The luncheon speaker on Saturday, October 28, 2006 was Major General (select) Erwin F. "Erv" Lessel III, Air Force Director of Communication in Crisis Management, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for the integration and synchronization of planning, execution, and assessment processes focused on delivering truthful, timely, accurate and credible communications to inform and enhance relations with key internal and external audiences.
