Department of Defense The civilian Cabinet organization in command of the US military
Department of Energy: National Security Cabinet level organization responsible for energy policy and nuclear security. The DOE's overriding security policy's are securing the nation's nuclear weapons, promoting international nuclear safety and nonproliferation, and providing nuclear power for the US Navy
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Focuses on reducing domestic threats, particularly terrorist attacks and natural disasters
FDA Counterterrorism A Food and Drug Administration website that provides information on food security and bioterrorism
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) The principal investigative arm of the Department of Justice. Law enforcement priorities include counterterrorism, corruption, drug trafficking and organized crime
National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Provides information on nuclear security and links to supporting offices and laboratories
National Security Council (NSC) The primary forum in which the President considers national security and foreign policy issues with senior advisers and cabinet officials
NIAID Biodefense The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases conducts research aimed at developing medical tools to counter bioterrorism agents including vaccines, therapies and diagnostic tests. NIAID is part of the National Institutes of Health
