African Development Bank In addition to speech transcripts and press communiqués, this up-to-date site offers Project Information Sheets on the latest work, arranged by country as well as statistics and basic information about African countries. A limited number of Economic Research Papers are available online.
Asian Development Bank's Development Topics As the ADB promotes sustainable development, it is increasingly dedicating attention to the policy and institutional environment of a given country. This section of the site gives access to several documents concerning law and development in Asia, the Law and Development Bulletin. Also included are links to other sites that deal with development issues in Asia.
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Established in 1991, the EBRD "...fosters the transition towards open market-oriented economies and promotes private and entrepreneurial initiative in the countries of central and eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)." From this general information site, you can download the EBRD's Annual Report in Adobe Acrobat as well as Working Papers on economic transformation of central and eastern Europe and the CIS.
Inter-American Development Bank An easy-to-navigate site with detailed information on pending, approved and completed projects (organized by country). Their Research Network, Working Papers and Newsletters are available for free in Adobe Acrobat. Also included are speech transcripts and press releases along with the bimonthly IDBAmerica (available in 5 languages) and a guide to business opportunities.
International Development Research Center IDRC is a public corporation created by the Canadian government to "help communities in the developing world find solutions to social, economic, and environmental problems through research." Its publications are available online for free.
North American Development Bank Created under the auspices of NAFTA, the NADB is a bilaterally funded, international organization jointly administered by the United States and Mexico. The site offers news, press releases, program information and the latest on their current projects.
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) This site is loaded with useful statistical information and links to member and non-member sites. Their Statistics on External Debt, maintained in conjunction with the Bank of International Settlement, the World Bank and the IMF.
Transparency International An NGO "dedicated to increasing government accountability and curbing both international and national corruption." This site includes free access to TI's quarterly newsletter and publications, including its widely regarded "Corruption Perceptions Index" and "SIGMA/TI Anti-Corruption Directory." There is also a rich collection of full-text working papers, speech transcripts and press releases. See their list of links to other sites dedicated to fighting corruption.
