Cold War International History Project Sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the CWIHP carries out "research into and understanding of the Cold War. The Project encourages the inclusion in a truly international history of perspectives and documentation from communist and formerly communist countries, by supporting full and prompt release of historical materials by governments on all sides." Its current and past full-text issues are available online for free in various formats.
Council on Foreign Relations "The Council on Foreign Relations is dedicated to increasing America’s understanding of the world and contributing ideas to U.S. foreign policy. The Council accomplishes this mainly by promoting constructive debates and discussions, clarifying world issues, and publishing Foreign Affairs (see below), the leading journal on global issues." The website collects important articles of interest grouped by topic and region.

Foreign Policy Considered to be one of the most influential international affairs journals in the world, it covers issues confronting U.S. foreign policy. Also available through Ginn Library's Electronic Journals page.
Foreign Policy in Focus Published by the Interhemispheric Resource Center and the Institute for Policy Studies, it contains policy briefs on foreign policy issues, along with recommendations for a more "responsible" U.S. foreign policy. Helsinki Monitor This quarterly on Security and Cooperation in Europe is published by the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC) and the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights (IHF). The journal focuses on the 'Helsinki Process'. A special section publishes OSCE documents.

Political Research Online (PROceedings) offers papers from the most recent Annual Meeting of the American Political Science Association. They cover a wide range of topics and include many on international relations and security topics.

Australian Archives The official home page of the Australian archives. Organized by government agency and consists of two major databases.
Canadian National Archives The official home page of the National Archives of Canada, available in both English and French.
Digital National Security Archive Collection of declassified primary documents on US foreign
and military policy since 1945. The National Security Archive is a non-profit research institute and library in Washington, DC. Tufts ID required for access.

National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) NARA is the official U.S. government agency si te responsible for overseeing the management of the records of the federal government. "... to ensure ready access to essential evidence . . .that documents the rights of American citizens, the actions of federal officials, and the national experience..."
U.K. Public Record Office The official web page of the Public Record Office, the national archive of England, Wales and the United Kingdom.

Avalon Project A project of Yale Law School, this site includes the text of documents in law, history and diplomacy, from the 17th century to the present.
Fidel Castro Speeches Database Full text English translations of the Cuban leader's speeches, interviews and press conferences from 1959-1995, based upon the records of the Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS). Organized by date.
Fletcher Multilaterals Project Texts of international multilateral conventions and other instruments. Categorized by subject and arranged chronologically. Searchable.
Foreign Relations of the United States The Foreign Relations of the United States series "presents the official documentary historical record of major U.S. foreign policy decisions and significant diplomatic activity. The series, which is produced by the State Department's Office of the Historian, began in 1861 and now comprises more than 350 individual volumes." Selected volumes of the series are available online at no cost.
Georgetown University's Diplomatic Collections This site gives a detailed bibliographic listing of Georgetown's oral history and manuscript collections. Individual items not available online.
Historical Text Archive This comprehensive site, housed at Mississippi State University, provides a gateway to sites related to the history of Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Canada, Europe and Latin America (with a focus on Mexico). It also has a topical index listing African-American, Native American, Genealogy, Mathematics, Movie History, Teaching, Sports, War and Women. Includes access to primary documents on the War of 1812, World War I, World War II. Note their list of archives, bibliographies, databases and journals.
History Out Loud Audio clips of speeches and other recordings from Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton as well as Winston Churchill and George Marshall. RealAudio software needed to access these files.
National Security Agency's Declassification Initiatives This site is an index of declassified documents released to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

VENONA Project The VENONA Project is sponsored by the National Security Agency. VENONA was "the codename used for the U.S. Signals Intelligence effort to collect and decrypt the text of Soviet KGB and GRU messages from the 1940's. These messages provided extraordinary insight into Soviet attempts to infiltrate the highest levels of the United States Government." This site gives access to some 3,000 declassified (and translated) documents in audio and text format.
